The Story Behind Log Frog

It all began one Saturday during a spontaneous outing to the local state park with my curious grandson. We planned to immerse ourselves in the wonders of nature, experience the thrill of the outdoors, and observe the incredible wildlife that called this park home.

Gator-watching became our game of the day as we sat by the tranquil lake. The excitement grew as we eagerly pointed and exclaimed with every ripple in the water, identifying every alligator, from the tiniest hatchlings to the colossal, ancient beasts basking in the sun.

But something unexpected happened as time passed, and the sun cast playful shadows on the water’s surface. We started to see things that weren’t there. “Is that a gator?” my grandson would ask, pointing at what seemed like a log floating in the water. “Or perhaps it’s a frog?” I’d wonder aloud.

“It’s a Log Frog!” we declared with infectious laughter. That day, something entirely new and whimsical was born. “Log Frog” became our term for all the unexpected surprises nature had in store.
